We like to reward excellence at MHP. The money we pay our people reflects their hard work and the complexity of their role. We’ll review and benchmark your salary annually, taking account of a range of internal and external factors. Our Reward team takes care of this, consulting with our Joint Consulting and Negotiating Committee and also at Board level through our Remuneration Committee.
Exceptional performers can be nominated by colleagues for achievement awards.
The Social Housing Pension Scheme is open to all members of staff to join right from day one. As an employee, the minimum contribution is 4%. If you can afford to pay more - you can; it is up to you. MHP will match your contribution up to a maximum of 8% of your pensionable earnings. E.g.
We recognise that commuting can be expensive, so we can help you spread the cost of your annual season ticket. You are eligible to apply for a season ticket loan on the first day of your employment.
All new employees join MHP on 25 days’ annual leave. Entitlement then grows (up to 32 days) linked to length of service. Eight public holidays are also paid. (We don’t recognise length of service from any other employers.)
Including sabbaticals, health screening, child care vouchers, buying and selling annual leave, dental plans, discounts on gym membership, insurance, travel, retail vouchers, etc.
A work / life balance is important to us at MHP. Some of our people work from home full time or part of the week. For some roles, hours may be more rigid but we’ll always consider flexible options. Any candidate can apply for any MHP role on a flexible working basis. Give us your proposal for working hours as part of your job application and we’ll consider it.
As well as taking part on our comprehensive corporate induction programme, an individual induction will be constructed for you. We want to make sure that you get off to as strong a start as you possibly can. Your performance will be formally reviewed at 3 months and again at 6 months and, if you’re doing your job, you’ll be confirmed in post.
You can expect to meet your manager roughly every 6 weeks to discuss how you’re getting on with the job. Your annual performance review will look at your past performance, agree objectives and review your personal development and training needs.
We sponsor colleagues for qualifications in housing, management, building, marketing and support work and encourage all people to apply for horizontal or vertical career development whenever they feel ready.
Metropolitan Housing Partnership is a unique network of locally focused member organisations working together to provide housing, regeneration, community, care and support services.
