When we set up Metropolitan Housing Partnership in 1957, our original aim was to provide good quality, affordable housing for those most in need. Fifty years on, we are much larger, but our goals haven’t changed.
We value people and believe in quality of life; transforming neighbourhoods and investing in communities.
We involve local people in all of the big decisions; those that affect their homes, as well as the broader social and economic issues that they face. We get into the heart of communities and turn them around.
Development
Metropolitan Development Services, our development arm works to meet the growing demand for new homes. We have the expertise and capacity to develop a wide-ranging programme of development including:
- mixed tenure developments of high and medium density
- redevelopment of low density sites
- change of use of unneeded industrial land
- redevelopment in town centres
- mixed economy developments
- working with commercial developer partners.

Metropolitan Development Services
Metropolitan Development Services provide the full development service to the MHP family of organisations, from land acquisition and feasibility work to delivery of the construction programme.
MDS works in London, the east of England region, M1 and M11 corridors, the South Midlands and the East Midlands region.
In 2007/8, we successfully claimed grant worth just under £88,000,000 across our area of operation for new build homes, completing almost 1,900 new rented and intermediate homes in the 2008 - 2009 Housing Corporation programme years with over 50 different contractors. Visit website
