Who we are
We are one of the largest housing associations in the Midlands, founded by three well respected Midlands based housing associations, Rushcliffe Homes, Metropolitan Housing Trust Midlands and The Walbrook Group in April 2007. We offer our customers over 80 years of combined expert knowledge, skills and experience working to “breathe life into communities”.
We offer housing and related services to single people, families and older people, through 11, 000 rented general needs, sheltered and extra-care homes. We also provide options for affordable home ownership and a wide range of other services, hence we reach over 50, 000 customers.
Our newly created housing management service is now concentrating on developing our approach to delivering excellent customer focussed services. We are developing a ‘right first time’ and ‘back to basics’ culture across the organisation and aim to be an excellent housing provider by April 2009. We aim to work closely with residents to deliver and improve services and to fully involve and consult residents in everything we do.
Our Asset Management Team has responsibility for all aspects of cyclical, planned and reinvestment work along with responsive repairs in all of the properties owned and managed by Spirita. We ensure that a coordinated approach is taken in respect of building related works carried out to our properties and high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved within procurement strategies which deliver good value for money.
Within our specialist older persons' section we provide specialist support and housing for over 1800 older people in our 38 sheltered and two assisted living schemes.
In Nottingham City we are the largest provider of extra-care housing and support and have our own registered domiciliary care agency. We also provide support, via 24-hour monitoring and alarm services for a further 750+ older people throughout the East Midlands.
We offer a number of ways for you our customers to get on the housing ladder with a range of affordable options. Visit the home ownership (LINK) section of our residents’ site for more information.
We also have three companies in our membership. EMPS Ltd provides gas repairs and maintenance services, and has gone from strength to strength thanks to the expanded market for its services following the merger. We are also home to the largest Home Improvement Agency in the country and the Black and Minority Ethnic focused Hallmark Community Housing Association which includes the Hadhari Nari Women’s Project.
We have recently seen our highly successful ‘garden makeover’ business, RedWelly, become a fully sustainable social enterprise and have launched our second innovative venture ‘cococo’ in March 2008. ‘cococo’ aims to pair up people from different backgrounds to help to coach each other in achieving great things!
We are part of one of the largest social housing and regeneration groups in the UK, Metropolitan Housing Partnership. We are big in geographical terms, big on innovation and big in ambition!
