What it’s all about?
Spirita’s social enterprise division are focussed on innovation. As Spirita’s strapline states we are dedicated to our customers and ‘breathing life into communities’. In support of our vision and mission, Spirita’s social enterprise division work at creating socially valuable enterprises which will benefit our residents and other service users.
One of our success stories during Spirita’s first year of operation is RedWelly. RedWelly offer organisations a team-building experience like no other, it gives organisations the opportunity to carry out a ‘garden makeover’ for worthy individuals such as the elderly, vulnerable and disabled, basically those who would benefit from transforming their outdoor spaces into more usable spaces.
RedWelly has gone from strength to strength since the launch; working with large Midlands based companies such as Egg, Rolls Royce and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The business model is now tried and tested and will now be spreading nationwide!
Another project which recently held a graduation ceremony at the Marriott Breadsall Priory in March 2008 is Cococo. This particular project focuses on pairing two individuals from different backgrounds, who then coach each other in order to achieve a personal goal or project.
A pilot was carried out starting in October 2007 with the graduation ceremony taking place in March 2008. During the pilot some of the particular goals and projects undertook was loosing weight, training to compete in a triathlon, working towards launching a radio show and learning to ride a bike. The pilot proved to be a success and the second group of students are now undertaking their personal projects, we wish them the best of luck and success in achieving their goals!
