Response to Audit Commission Inspection Report - Walbrook Housing Association
23 January 2008
Andrew Lanning, Chief Executive of Spirita Ltd and former Chief Executive of The Walbrook Group, has responded to the Audit Commission’s report on the Housing Management Services provided by Walbrook Housing Association, published today (24th January 2008).
The report was critical of the service provided to Walbrook’s residents.
Mr Lanning said: “We are disappointed at the length of time it has taken for this report to be published. It refers to an inspection that took place in September 2006 and a lot has changed since then.
“Most significantly, Walbrook Housing Association no longer exists. In April 2007 it merged with Metropolitan Housing Trust Midlands and Rushcliffe Homes to become Spirita, part of the Metropolitan Housing Partnership. As such we are able to build on the strengths of all three founding members and the support offered to us by Metropolitan Housing Partnership.
“We acknowledge the contents of the report and have worked hard to address the issues raised. I am confident that we are in a position to deliver consistently improving levels of service to all the residents of this new organisation in the future.”
