Sheila Hyde - Managing Director of spirita
Born in north London, Sheila joined MHP as Chief Executive of Rushcliffe Homes in January 2003 when Rushcliffe Homes moved across to MHP.
After studying sociology at Leicester University, Sheila set up the Leicester Money Advice Centre, and then worked for the welfare rights team at Nottinghamshire County Council. In both roles she specialised in money advice, multiple debt and income maximisation. During this time she served on the National Money Advice Committee sponsored by the National Consumer Council.
Sheila decided on a career change after having her children and joined MHP Midlands as a supported housing officer in 1990, as well as embarking on her MSc in Housing. Three years later, Sheila moved to Leicester as a community care manager developing its first Housing and Community Care Strategy and then as a housing services manager for Broxtowe Borough Council.
It was after this that Rushcliffe beckoned, with Sheila joining Rushcliffe Borough Council as Borough Housing Officer. Two years later she was appointed Head of Housing in which time she oversaw the transfer of Rushcliffe Homes to MHP.
Sheila is keen on walking, skiing and sport. She also enjoys time at home with her family, reading and gardening. Her approach to work is "Let's do it!"
