Posted by MHP on December 19, 2011 | No Comments

Older and vulnerable service users across 13 of Metropolitan Housing Partnership’s (MHP’s) sheltered housing schemes are the latest residents to benefit from a solar panel project funded by Metropolitan Housing Partnership (MHP) and delivered by Apollo.

The £400,000 solar PV (photovoltaic) project has been completed in time to benefit from the Governments current Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) programme that incentivises the installation of renewable energy technologies. Under the FiT, MHP will get money for the extra electricity generated by the solar panels and for any surplus amount which is sent back to the National Grid. MHP expects to get FiT payments of over £40,000 a year to offset the cost of its investment in solar PV panels. Furthermore, residents will benefit from free electricity during the day.
