Following its annual quality assessment of developments completed in the last 12 months, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has praised Metropolitan Housing Partnership (MHP) for the high quality standard of its schemes. The schemes reviewed were the Redsan Works (Croydon), Cadiz Court (Barking & Dagenham), Crossharbour (Tower Hamlets) and Strongbridge (Harrow).
According to the HCA, compared to the general quality of housing delivered by London housing associations, the schemes assessed were all at the upper-end of the quality spectrum. Crossharbour and Strongbridge were both rated particularly highly in terms of the thought that had gone into their design and configuration and then final construction quality.
Crossharbour has been cited as “a very impressive new development, which is possibly one of the densest housing developments in London to date. It represents an exceptionally well thought-out solution and has been built to a high quality….this is an exemplar of how to deliver very high density.” Strongbridge received similarly high praise: “The Strongbridge estate is emerging as a very high quality scheme, which provides an exemplar for new housing.” According to the HCA, of particular note is the quality of the interiors of the buildings, which provide for a very pleasant environment for tenants.
Angela Epps, Director of Development at MHP, commented:
“MHP and its development team work closely and collaboratively with all our partners and that really pays off in the quality of the schemes that we deliver together. I am delighted that our efforts have been acknowledged in such a positive way by the HCA.”
