Mixed tenure housing management
Community board
St Martin’s Estate in Lambeth includes 1200 leasehold and social rent homes, shop units and community facilities. Since early 2005 Metropolitan Housing Trust (MHT) has acted as the management contractor for the whole estate, on behalf of three housing associations who own different parts of the estate.
A community board controlled by local residents supported MHT’s appointment, and directs the delivery of our management service.
Consortium arrangement
At Gaumont House in Peckham, MHT owns the freehold to a multi-tenure, multi-landlord development comprising 60 flats above commercial premises.
Agreement with the other landlords provides a consortium arrangement in which we provide a full property management service to the scheme. Our New Homes team initiated these arrangements, providing a consistent level of service to all residents across the development.
The resident group and the consortium meet regularly to monitor the service.
Stand-alone management company
At Rose Hill Triangle in Sutton, MHT owns 70 affordable dwellings as part of a development of 175 homes undertaken in partnership with Bellway Homes.
A stand-alone management company has been set up to manage the estate. MHT, the private leaseholders and owners of the retail units all own shares in the management company.
