Regeneration and development

Regeneration

When we set up Metropolitan Housing Trust in 1957, our original aim was to provide good quality, affordable housing for those most in need. Fifty years on, we are much larger, but our goals haven't changed.

We value people and believe in quality of life; transforming neighbourhoods and investing in communities.

We involve local people in all of the big decisions; those that affect their homes, as well as the broader social and economic issues that they face. We get into the heart of communities and turn them around.

Development

Our development services are working to meet the growing demand for new homes.
We have the expertise and capacity to develop a wide-ranging programme of development including:

  • mixed tenure developments of high and medium density
  • redevelopment of low density sites
  • change of use of unneeded industrial land
  • redevelopment in town centres
  • mixed economy developments
  • working with commercial developer partners.
