Edmonton, London Borough of Enfield

After the transfer of 1,300 homes in 1999 from the London Borough of Enfield to the Green Horizons partnership of MHT and London & Quadrant, three tower blocks have been refurbished and 800 new homes have been built. As the successful regeneration drew to a close, in accordance with our agreement with residents, direct management moved to the responsibility of individual associations. In April 2005 we welcomed tenants and leaseholders from Green Horizons who joined MHT London.

As part of the refurbishment four 22-storey tower blocks and system build low-rise blocks were demolished. This regeneration also included Edmonton Green shopping centre, the largest local authority owned shopping centre in England.

Our Edmonton regeneration project has also won multiple awards for its community involvement programmes including a Gold Award from the Housing Corporation for its pioneering work with the Turkish speaking community in Enfield.
