Liz Hughes, Director of Human Resources

Liz joined MHP in October 2003, having worked previously as Group Head of HR for a plc in the private sector.

Born and living in Kent but with strong Scottish ancestry, Liz has worked for 14 years in the HR profession and has previously worked in both the legal and accountancy fields. Liz has an Executive Diploma in Management Studies, a Diploma in Management, and a Diploma in Life Coaching and a holds a Masters in Business Administration. She is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management.

As HR Director, Liz is responsible for leading the HR team and setting future HR strategy for the partnership. Liz has vast experience at Board level, in managing change, acquisitions, TUPE and Pay and Benefits harmonisation.

Liz has two teenage daughters, enjoys hill walking, most forms of sport and is also a qualified aerobics instructor.

Liz believes that HR should operate at the highest level in an organisation and her HR advisors and managers should operate as business partners with the management teams that they support, thus sharing responsibility with management for the delivery of business objectives.
