Kate Russell – Director of Policy and Performance
Kate joined MHP as Quality and Initiatives Manager in 1995, having previously worked in housing for Luton Borough Council, South Beds District Council and the London Boroughs of Richmond and Westminster.
She has also worked as a recruitment consultant and lecturer in housing studies. Kate has a degree in English Literature, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and is working on an MBA dissertation on resident involvement in group structures.
At MHP Kate has always been involved in service development, and has overseen two reviews of the housing service. In 2002, Kate brought together staff working on policy, service improvement and regulation to form the Quality and Compliance Team, and has taken MHP through three housing inspections, most recently Granta in 2007.
She believes that the basic housing services should be provided to an excellent standard so that residents have confidence in MHP, and that residents should be able to influence and participate in whatever way they choose.
Kate has two children and two step children and enjoys a wide range of activities in her spare time, including supporting a well known Midlands football team.
