MHP residents and staff with an interest in gender equality issues (including Transgender issues) and raising awareness, have been encouraged to become involved in feeding their views into our first Gender Equality Scheme or GES and 3 year Action Plan.
Our aim is to continually develop and improve these documents, reasonably prioritising actions required over the next three years. We are also following recent good practice guidance provided by the Housing Corporation in producing their own GES and Action Plan. the Housing Corporation have for the first time passed on the requirement to produce a GES Action Plan to all housing associations.
It is important to MHP that we demonstrate over time, how we are engaging and involving men, women and Transgender people in developing a resident and staff led equality scheme. For the scheme to be successful it is vital that our customers and staff own the scheme and are involved in its development and monitoring of its delivery over time.
Critical to the success of the scheme is our commitment to annually review progress of the objectives established in the action plan and to plan for further improvements.
We are pleased to present to our stakeholders MHP's first Gender Equality Scheme and 3 year Action Plan.
MHP are committed to embedding equality and diversity as a core organisational activity and to promoting all six key diversity strands ie age, gender, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or belief in all our dealings. MHP will not tolerate and will challenge acts of discrimination, harassment, bullying or any other oppressive treatments arising within our activities.
