Community investment

Our residents and service users are the driving force behind all our community investment activities. By working with them, we support activities which improve the quality of life of local people.

Our aims

• Aim 1: reduce isolation and poverty
• Aim 2: develop the potential of children, young people and adults
• Aim 3: make places safer and greener
• Aim 4: sustain and develop community groups and organisations

 

Involving our staff

We give our London staff two days a year to contribute to community activities during work time and make connections with the people we work for.

Last year, nine members of staff joined forces with twenty service users and four external volunteers to create an allotment at one of our supported accommodation schemes for refugees and asylum seekers in Bromley. The allotment is now maintained and enjoyed by service users.

Other members of staff have supported projects including a horticultural centre in Finsbury Park and Christmas shopping trips with elderly residents in Stockwell.

The team

The central Community Investment Unit supports and informs an expansion of work within the businesses and helps increase the profile of community investment within and beyond the Partnership.
