MHT London gets on the ball with Queen’s Park Rangers
Metropolitan Housing Trust London (MHT London) has teamed up with Queen’s Park Ranges (QPR) to hold a two day football training session for children on the Chalkhill Estate. The training will take place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 February at the Chalkhill Primary School, Wembley.
The sessions, run by coaches from the football club, will run from 2 - 4pm and open for both boys and girls aged 8 – 14. The session will include basic ball skills, team tactics and strategies, fitness training and advice about getting into professional football.
Samantha Harding, Sport Project Officer for MHT London says of the sessions; "we’re very pleased to be working with QPR on this project. There’s a lot of talent and energy amongst the children on the Chalkhill Estate and it’s hoped these sessions will give them an opportunity to develop their skills. We’ve also seen some girls who’ve show both interest and great potential so we’re very keen to support this. We’re grateful for the funding provided by Big Lottery and Brent Council"
Activate London is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Led by Peabody Trust, the well-being projects are delivered in partnership with CBHA, Circle Anglia, Family Mosaic, Metropolitan Housing and Southern Housing Group.
