10 years of work sees award win

MHP celebrates winning the Affordable Home Ownership award for Best Contribution to Neighbourhoods and Communities for the regeneration at Canalside, Hackney. Held at the Victoria Park Plaza hotel MHP’s Tim Goodwin and Graeme Moran received the award on behalf of the organisation.

Formed from two Hackney's most challenging estates, Haggerston East and Whitmore Estate (plus another block on the Kingsland Estate), the £65m regeneration was scored on several categories such as demonstrating active involvement of the community including business and residents, implementing community development or neighbourhood safety initiatives and promoting diversity and/or social inclusion.

Akin Otitojo, Neighbourhood Manager says of Canalside 'the regeneration of Canalside has taken over 10 years and we've seen some dramatic changes. We're ecstatic about winning the award; it says a lot about how residents have benefited and the impact we've made.'
